New Requirements For Unemployment Benefits In Belarus

The “Parliament” has approved amendments to the law.

In the near future, Belarusians applying for unemployment benefits may face new requirements. The “Chamber of Representatives” approved the relevant amendments to the legislation on employment issues at the autumn session, which started on September 17.

According to the press service of the “chamber”, after the new legislation comes into force, receiving unemployment benefits will be associated with additional conditions, the amount of benefits will become fixed, and the period of being registered with the labor, employment and social protection authorities will be reduced.

At the moment, the amount of benefits assigned by the labor, employment and social protection authorities depends on the duration of unemployment and the number of applications for benefits. The amount of benefits varies from 28 to 80 rubles per month.
