The NATO anti-aircraft guns were striking across the river separating the two states.

Romanian Gepard anti-aircraft systems were shooting down Russian UAVs across the river that separates Romania and Ukraine. This was reported by the Visegrád 24 account on X social network (formerly Twitter).

‘The NATO state has started shooting down Russian drones over Ukrainian airspace. A new video shows Romanian self-propelled Gepard anti-aircraft guns shooting down Russian kamikaze drones across the river separating Romania and Ukraine, near Izmail,’ the account said.

It is noted that Romania was forced to take action after at least one drone penetrated 11 kilometres deep into its territory and other UAVs were flying in its direction.

Earlier it was reported that F-16 fighter jets were brought into the air in Romania. The population of one of the counties was warned about the threat. The fragments of a Russian drone were found near the settlement of Plauru, bordering Ukraine.
