Helicopter With People On Board Goes Missing In Russian Federation

The helicopter's emergency beacon went off.

A Robinson helicopter has disappeared in Yakutia, with a pilot and three passengers on board, the press service of the East Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office reports.

The helicopter Robinson R44II activated the emergency beacon at about 0:40 local time on July 19 (18:40 July 18 Minsk time), the agency said. They added that the search operation involves aircrafts of Polar Airlines.

Investigators have opened a case of violating the rules of safety of movement and operation of air transport - Art. 263 of the Criminal Code.

‘RIA Novosti’ with reference to the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Republic writes that the helicopter disappeared 80 km from the village of Chagda.

In late June, a Robinson R-66 helicopter crashed in Amur region. There were three passengers and a pilot on board, they died. The helicopter belonged to a private company. It flew from the site of a forestry industrial complex and disappeared from radar.
